Billing Specialist
Code and post all encounters. Review all claims for accuracy and submit to appropriate insurance agency. Post incoming Explanation of Benefits and payments. Submit appeals for all denied payments.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
The Center’s Medical Director is the chief clinician at the Center. Responsible for delivering quality medical care to patients of the Center, the Medical Director functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team within the scope of their medical practice but also oversees the entire medical staff and provides clinical direction at the Center.
Dental Assistant (DA)
Assists the dentist in providing professional and quality care to dental patients. Performs accurate dental charting and recording.
Dental Office Coordinator
Responsible for management of registration staff, as well as management of the day to day operations of the dental office ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. Works as a liaison with other departments, dental staff, patients, and outside agencies to facilitate problem solving and data collection appropriate to patient dental care services.
Dentist
The Staff Dentist is responsible for delivery of quality dental care to patients of the Center and functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary health care team within the scope of his or her dental practice.
Director of Nurses
The Center’s Director of Nursing (DON) is the chief nurse at the Center. Responsible for delivery of quality medical care to patients of the Center, the (DON) functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary health care team within the scope of his or her license, and oversees the nursing staff providing direction regarding nursing care at the Center. Any clinic concerns exceeding the (DON)’s scope of practice, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will be consulted. Upon unavailability of the CMO, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be consulted.
LVN (Primary Care/Pediatrics)
The Staff Nurse is an integral part of the health care team. The Staff Nurse assists the health care team in a professional manner in the community health center setting. Responsibilities include administering quality nursing care, immunizations and health education to patients of all ages in accordance with established nursing standards; assisting in the lab as appropriate; working with all health center personnel to ensure an efficient and safe environment of care.

Since 1994, La Esperanza Clinic has been dedicated to providing high quality health and dental care to approximately 10,000 residents in San Angelo and the Concho Valley. With three brick-and-mortar clinics located on Buick Street, South Chadbourne, and 31st Street, as well as a Mobile Clinic that travels to rural areas, we strive to make healthcare accessible for everyone. Our mission is to deliver exceptional primary, preventative, and dental care, particularly to the medically underserved.

Student Preceptorship Program

La Esperanza Clinic offers hands-on preceptorships for healthcare students, providing real-world experience in a supportive, community-focused setting. Students learn alongside experienced providers while gaining valuable skills in patient care and teamwork.
