Local Food Assistance Resources
We understand that the recent U.S. government shutdown may affect SNAP (formerly known as food stamps) benefits, leaving some families and individuals without access to this vital support. Even if you have been furloughed, there are resources available in San Angelo and the surrounding area to help you and your family during this time.
Concho Valley Regional Food Bank (CVRFB):
The CVRFB is a central warehouse that supplies food to local organizations, which then distribute it to the community. Most food is canned, boxed, or frozen, with some fresh produce. They do not give food directly to individuals, but you can see a list of organizations that receive food here:
San Angelo Food Bank: The San Angelo Food Bank provides direct food distributions, though not daily. They post updates about their distribution schedule online:
Hot Meals: Several local organizations provide hot meals at different locations throughout the week.
